Pashchimbanga Ayurved Chikitsak Samity is a non-government organization, established on 1988-89 under Society Registration Act XXVI of 1961 having registration no. SO059464 of 1988-89 (Legacy Reg. No. S/59464 of 1988-89). The organization is dedicated for propagation of Ayurvedic education, research and application for the benefit of ailed persons. The organization has their own constitution in Bengali language describing the rules for being registered as annual or life member as well as selection in the state and executive committee. The constitution also described in detail about the activities to be done by the organization in a non-profitable manner.
Pashchimbanga Ayurved Chikitsak Samity organize continuing medical education (CME) programme on various topics of Ayurveda and relevant sciences at Bangiya Bijnan Parishad, P-23, Raja Rajkrishna Street, Kolkata 700006 (near Goabagan Park) on every 3rd Sunday of the months since January 2014 till date. Any interested persons are allowed to attend the programme including UG and PG Ayurvedic students, practitioners, researchers and faculties. Two major seminars at national level were organized by the organization entitled, “Interior of Molecules of Ayurvedic Rasaousadhis” held at Science City auditorium, Kolkata during December 4-6, 2006 with participation of more than 750 delegates from 13 states of the country and “Lifestyle Disorders and Ayurveda (ALIFE 2023)” held at Anthropological Survey of India, Salt Lake City, Kolkata as pre-conference workshop venue and National Library auditorium, Kolkata as main conference venue during 25-27 November 2023 having participation of more than 650 delegates from home and abroad. A training on HIV-AIDS was also organized by the organization during 2004.
Pashchimbanga Ayurved Chikitsak Samity organize Ayurvedic health camps with free distribution Ayurvedic medicines in various places of state from time to time. Expert Ayurvedic Physicians served the common people through these camps and awareness regarding Ayurveda is done accordingly.
The organization felicitate the scholars of Ayurveda every year from different academic institute for securing proficiency in the entrance examination for admission in PG courses at various institute of national importance. Besides, important news of felicitation at different platform of the Ayurvedic personalities are also published.
Pashchimbanga Ayurved Chikitsak Samity publish their official journal AYURESHANA quarterly through online and printed manner with research and review articles of Ayurvedic scholars. Special issue of the journal on various occasions are also published.
